Okie...started my engine yesterday already......spent some time and did most of my project proposal already..think I still left about 10 percent to finish..Can finish it faster than I expected...

Just had my japanese class just now...today we learnt how to say numbers in japanese....some of the numbers either sound like mandarin or hokkien so some of the numbers are a bit easier to catch..for example like 4 is "shi" and 5 is "go"which sounds like 5 in hokkien....and 4 in mandarin...other more difficult ones are like 8 is "hachi" and 9 is "kyu".......okie....got to go for another jap class now....got two lessons on monday and a 3 hour break in between!!!...

Went to Eng Chiaw's house for a housewarming party yesterday evening......His house is considered one of the furthest of all our group of friends. Its a 25 minute walk from our place. As usual, its kind of a potluck so I cooked steamed chicken as my contribution.......The full food feast there included, fried mee, fried rice, wedges, chicken drumsticks, a fish ball wannabe( its acutally a potatoe dish which looks like a small fishball....hee...),etc. The house is a two room flat in some sort of an attic.....My friend even has a small window on the roof which can see stars...A pity that there were no stars to gaze yesterday night....Guess there will still be either one or two more housewarming parties to go after this one.....

Well, today I think I better get started on my project proposal....have to hand in on friday...have started a bit like the cover page, the content page and the headings....hee....doesn't sound that much rite.....think I better go and do it now!!!...hee....

Today I was supposed to meet my final year supervior at 11.30am. When I went to his office at 11.30am, I saw a post-it note outside his office asking me to wait for 20 minutes. I waited and waited for one hour and when he finally appeared, he said he can't meet me now because he has to meet someone important now and ask me to come back at 2.30pm. Well, what to do??my supervisior is well known to be very busy and there were also 3 to 4 people waiting and looking for him while I was waiting outside his door.

I went back at 2.30pm and was glad to find him in his office. He then explained to me what I am supposed to do for my final year project. After that, I went to the library to look up some books for my final year project and then went for my japanese class. We learnt how to pronounce characters from the Hiragana the last lesson. Today we learnt how to write the characters. It was qutie interesting but I find it hard to memorise the characters at the start. We had been given homework which is to write 20 of each character.....which is what I am going to start doing now.......

Had a housewarming party at Magnet Court yesterday evening which is where I stay. Four or my friends stay in the 6th floor and my three friends and I stay in the 3rd floor. So it is some sort of a combined housewarming party on the 6th floor....We had a big feast as they cooked quite a lot of stuff and my flat cooked fried bee hoon as our contribution. Halfway through the night, I was tricked into one of the rooms by Eng Chiaw and then was suprised later when I went into the kitchen and the lights were off with a birthday cake lit with candles on the dining table. I was surprised and touched by what they had done and would like to thank them for all of their efforts and planning. My birthday is not until tuesday but should celebrate earlier cos everyone would be busy on a schoolday......

After eating the cake, we then went on to play a game where someone enters a number from 1 to 99 and everyone else tries not to guess what that number is. Whoever guesses the number correctly would have to do a forfeit which is to eat a slice of lemon!! When we ran out of lemon, the next forfeit was to eat 3 slices of honeydew which is not that bad after all compared to the slice of lemon...hee...After finishing all the lemon and honeydew, we then decided to call it a day and ended the housewarming party....

Today is the end of the induction week. Basically its the end of the "nuaing" week. Didn't have much things to do except registration, paying of school fees, acommadation fees and doing our selection of modules for my final year. I could take a 20 credits module outside of my electrical and electronic department so I decided to take a foreign language which is Japanese. Hopefully I would be able to master that as it is the weightate of 2 subjects. Lectures start next week and I also have to hand up a Final Year Project Proposal at the end of Week 2 so I think I better get my "engine" started...hee......

I just came back from Ireland on Saturday. Basically we went to Belfast and stayed there for two nights. We didn't really take a lot of photos cos Ireland is about the same as England. Did some sightseeing, shopping and went to the Hard Rock Cafe there but sadly there was no much selection there in stock.

Today's the registration day for returning students so my classmates and I went to register. There were 4 queues of people but not more than 10 people but then it took us more than 30 minutes to register!!!The main reason was because the staff there didn't know how to use the computer software and they were trying out the system on the regristration day. Imagine how long that would take if there were a lot of people. Well, that's the way that things work in england......slow and steady.
